我国水资源总量虽然较多，但人均量并不丰富。在缺水的地方，村子里一家人一天的用水只有两桶，除了饮用外还要漱洗。水用完了，大家就要到十公里外的一处很小的泉眼里去打水，经常要排上几个小时的队，才能挑一担回家。水成为了村里最珍贵的东西。小孩们最期待和渴望的就是能洗上一个痛痛快快的澡。那里的人都非常珍惜水。但是，身为江南的我们却不那样珍惜水，而是在浪费它。
